Marketing Business & Insights Analyst

Data

Description

Morning is seeking a Marketing & Growth Insights Lead—a strategic, business-minded analyst who will serve as a true Business Partner at the heart of decision-making.

This is not a reporting or dashboard role. Your mission is to move beyond merely crunching numbers to create the northstar for the Marketing and Growth organizations. You will be responsible for turning complex data into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations that directly influence marketing strategy, budget allocation, growth priorities, and product decisions.

In a world where AI can surface data, this role exists to answer the harder, critical business questions: What does it mean? Why is it happening? And what should we do next? Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas

  • Own Business & Strategic Insights: Serve as a strategic partner to Marketing leadership. You will translate complex data into clear, actionable business recommendations and move beyond “what happened” to explain why it happened and what decision it should drive.
  • Drive Strategic Change: You are the analytical engine within the Marketing team, leading them toward data-driven decisions. You are the voice of "what’s next," proactively surfacing insights that impact budget allocation, channel strategy, messaging, and campaign prioritization.
  • Challenge Assumptions & Drive Focus: Use data to challenge existing beliefs and habits. You will identify initiatives that look “busy” but fail to move the business needle, and recommend where to double down, where to optimize, and where to stop.
  • Bridge Finance & Marketing: Analyze ROI/ROAS through a financial lens, ensuring that every marketing dollar spent contributes to sustainable profitability and aligns with high-LTV (Lifetime Value) user behavior.

Requirements

Who You Are?

  • A Natural Influencer & Communicator: You have exceptional interpersonal skills. You can present complex insights simply and convince stakeholders to take action. You simplify the complex, extracting the 'so what' to deliver the insights needed to move the needle.
  • Analytically Fearless: 3+ years in an analytical role within a fast-paced SaaS / growth environment. Deep understanding of the difference between Vanity metrics vs. growth levers, and Correlation vs. causation.
  • Technical Pro: High-level SQL is your second language. Expert in BI tools (DataBricks / aws QuickSight / Power BI) and strong Excel/spreadsheet modeling skills. Experience with marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta, HubSpot) is a plus.
  • Business Minded: Strong business intuition—you think in tradeoffs, not just metrics. You understand key SaaS metrics (CAC, LTV, Payback periods) and how they relate to user behavior.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Economics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or Business Management.
  • You simplify the complex. You don't just build models; you extract the 'so what' and deliver the insights needed to move the needle
